Bach to Books presents ocarinist Cris Gale

Made popular by The Legend fo Zelda video game, the flute-like wind instrument known as the ocarina will be played by Allen's own Cris Gale at the Allen Public Library Friday, August 12th. The ocarina is one of the world's oldest musical instruments with primitive forms found in ancient civilizations like the Aztecs and Mayans, as well as the Chinese.

Cris began playing the ocarina in 1999, and since, has performed at renaissance festivals, weddings, and even as a studio musician for a meditation CD. In 2009, she won STL Ocarina's International Star Search competition and subsequently joined STL Ocarina as a consultant and performer. She said, "(Playing the ocarina)" is something that I deeply enjoy doing that happens to bring me peace and happiness. I can't imagine life without it."
